The Art of Short Nonfiction Prose

Saturday, May 6, 2017 • 9:00 am – 4:00 pm • Bedminster, NJ

A day-long writing intensive in a beautiful setting on a 30-acre farm. Write, dream, plan, share, and learn more about saying more with less. Explore short, flash, and micro-nonfiction, and how to transform even quotidian experiences into compelling prose.

The day offers

+ instructive presentations and generative sessions, discussions, reading

+ plenty of quiet, deep writing time and guided exercises

+ workshops to generate short prose ideas and identify key themes, details and imagery

+ reflective outdoor time to walk through the farm’s gardens, fields or dirt roads

+ optional work sharing and feedback

+ wrap-up Q&A.

Fee for the full day, including all activities, handouts, snacks, beverages, a delicious, healthy farm-to-table lunch, and a free one-year digital subscription to Tiferet, is $110.

Optional add-on: feedback for up to 8 pages of writing (submitted in advance); includes notes and private 15-minute meeting, is $30.

Lisa’s nonfiction is published frequently in journals, newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. She teaches in the Bay Path University MFA program, and is creative nonfiction editor at Compose.
