C.M. Mayo is the author of several works on Mexico, among them, Metaphysical Odyssey into the Mexican Revolution: Francisco I. Madero and His Secret Book; a novel based on the true story, The Last Prince of the Mexican Empire (a Library Journal Best Book of 2009); and Sky Over El Nido, winner of the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction. Her work has appeared in numerous literary journals, among them, Creative Nonfiction, Kenyon Review, Literal Magazine, and Paris Review. A noted literary translator, Mayo is also editor of a collection of 24 Mexican writers on Mexico, Mexico: A Traveler’s Literary Companion. She lives in Mexico City.
