solstice song – 2013

now ride the darkness and the flame

dark hair streaming

sifting the darkness

with starlit eyes

petals fall in this lean wind

bless us

with a touch of your wings

bless us with wings

return to us, your arms loaded with blossoms

O Primavera Eurydice Tara of darkness

scatter your blossoms as you scatter us

now we huddle eating sour seeds and bitter leaves

wearing the skins of our brothers and sisters

talking the hunt chanting the sacrifice

purged by the fire is soon to say

but what to do with the ashes

something stirs there

shimmering through the dust and mist of time

these inner voices awaken

in the arms of mother breath

lady we offer ourselves

we offer ourselves to you
