What goes on in my mind when I meditate

Don’t be fooled by people who say that meditation is all peaceful and quiet. It can be a challenge and even after time and experience, I find a weird dude up there screaming “Phenomena!” – which according to Buddhist anicca “inconstancy” or “impermanence” refers to the fact that all phenomena are in a constant state of flux. Only appearance of a thing ceases as it changes from one form to another. During meditation we try to come to terms with this but the reality is that it is difficult to accept when mental and physical phenomena seem so real. Just like in the video…

Jim Henson is a bodhisattva and I miss him dearly.

But sometimes it can be like this. With everything happening at once.

Cheers,
John
